Whenever you are renting your very first home, it is a heck of a lot different than buying it. There are other things that you need to think about versus mortgages and such. The first is going to be the contract that is drawn up for you to sign. This is absolutely something that you are going to want to read over before you sign. You never, ever want to sign something that you have not personally read, so make sure you read all of the fine print.
Next, inspect the property before you move in. Take pictures – that way, if the landlord turns on you, you can make sure that you have proof of anything. It happens! Do not think it won’t with you, because it most likely will, so make sure that you cover your butt!
Another thing is keep the house up. Even though you are renting if, make sure that you keep it looking nice and credible!
