Christmas is right around the corner and while you might be settling in for the long hull in your brand new apartment, there are some things that you notice that are not working. For example, your heat. When you moved in, you didn’t notice it but now that you have been here for a little while, you are beginning to notice it.

So how do you get your landlord to fix that? Well, one of the first things that you are going to want to do is be polite and just tell them that your heat is not working. You want to make sure that you are friendly but stern, as you do not want to be taken advantage of.

If your landlord persists that, that is the way the apartment is, that is when you play a little hardball and get yourself online to do some research. Every single state has laws and if you are anything like me, you know those laws and your rights as a tenant.
